The Professional Side
Dr. Katie Sandefur grew up in central Nebraska. She graduated from Wichita State with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. While at WSU, she was a National Merit Scholar and competed for the Shockers in cross country and track. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, where she volunteered with the Nebraska Mission of Mercy and Veterans’ Clinic.
Dr. Katie is excited to return to Wichita to join the Humlicek Dental team. She is passionate about equipping her patients to make the best decisions for their smiles and health through education and maintaining an open dialogue.

The Personal Side
Dr. Katie is married to Dr. Richard Sandefur, DDS. They have three children, Elise (4), Greyson (2), and Celia (6 months). In their free time, you can find them spending time outside, reading a good book, cheering on the Huskers and Chiefs, and in the kitchen testing out a new recipe.
